It might as well be that some of the links (like the docs pages) refer to pages that will become public in the coming hours.
ReplyDeleteHi Marco... I get a forbidden error for this link http://docs.embarcadero.com/products/rad_studio/firedac/frames.html?frmname=topic&frmfile=FAQ.html (from here http://blog.marcocantu.com/blog/firedac_announced.html)
ReplyDeleteTake care: if you don't change it, FireDAC installs into the same location as AnyDAC! This might mix up an existing installation for older Delphi versions.
ReplyDeleteEMBT on-line store, FireDAC CS add on for Delphi Pro users:
ReplyDeleteNew user: $US 399.00
Upgrade: $US 299.00
S/A: $US 150.00 (1 Year)
Note that there are no free upgrades/support in the base price. You must buy S/A to get upgrades and support. Also, I cannot find mentioned anywhere if source code is included or not.

Kevin Powick Source code is included, but an encryption unit.
ReplyDeleteMarco Cantù - the documentation says that the packages can be compiled with Delphi versions other than XE3. If the encryption unit is missing, how is this possible? Can we expect the file to be made available sometime in the future?
ReplyDeleteUwe Raabe FireDAC installs in a different folder, but it does install and register packages and the same names as AnyDAC. Whihc might cause some havoc. So in the end you are right...
ReplyDeletePaul Thornton You can install for other versions, with /IDE:DXE2, for example. Or (if you don't care about SQLite encryption) disable that feature.
ReplyDeleteKevin Powick I wish it was that price:
ReplyDeleteNew user AU $519
Upgrade AU $389
S.A. AU $195
Marco Cantù Why such price difference in Australia when the Australian dollar is better than the US dollar???
