  1. Eric Grange - The posts of you and Andreas Hausladen makes me wonder what Delphi could have been, if Delphi developers could actually contribute to it's development!

  2. Lars Fosdal Don't forget the FastCode project, the JEDI group, and countless others. They had a huge momentum going. All those issues I'm discussing about were already discussed with solutions back in the D5-D7 days, and that all fell on deaf ears apparently.
I've always been apalled to see how they threw away all their technical advantages and didn't listen even when they were given the solution, opting instead for sub-par designs and bad algorithmic choices. Sometimes I feel like Borland & Embarcadero lock up their engineers in Ivory towers with no internet access. :/

  3. Alexey Petushkov Lazarus & FPC have made great strides, but they've been historically a bit too rooted in the Linux world IMHO.
It's only recently that you could install & use Lazarus in Windows without having to deal with arcane command line at one point or another.
I'm personnally hoping Lazarus+FPC 2.7 builds will return for that reason ;-)

  5. Alexey Petushkov Any info on why the FPC 2.7 daily snapshots were pulled and when they will return? I need 2.7 for generics & Unicode strings, even if they have only partial support, it's better than 2.6

  6. 2.7 is not stable yet, but I saw support for generics in stable 2.6
