OK, for the last two days, Delphi XE has been making me crazy. I'm in the editor, and with several files open. I have GExperts in place, as well as CnPack. I double-click a tab to close a file. Suddenly the left and right panels (Obj Insp and Project/File trees) are gone. Double-click again to close another file and the panels are back. As features go, wherever this came from, it sucks!

Anyone have this experience before?

  1. Kenneth Cochran Interesting, as I had just learned last week that it was not incompatible with the other add-ins I use, so I did install it. I had not yet gone exploring, but sure enough, that is the source of the odd behavior. Thanks!

  2. Kenneth Cochran Thank you! That was driving me mad as well. I thought XE2 was disabling the double-click-close somehow, because it is still working in D7, but DDevExtensions made the difference.

  3. The problem is, thatby default  DDevExtensions "zooms" the editor window at double click. At the same time CNPack closes the editor Tab at double click. Double Clicking again on another Tab (in order to close it) "unzoomes" the editor window.
So either disable the zoom behaviour in DDevExtensions or the double click close behavior in CNPack. I for myself just chose the latter option, since I always use the mouse middle button to close a Tab (and hence never stumbled across your problem)
...Oh, and just realized that Kennth Cochran gave the same explanation
