Some day I may want to share some of my components. I am looking for a license that will have minimal restrictions, but make it clear that I am not providing any warranty or accepting any liability for their use. From a web search, it looks like there are dozens of licenses and variants. Any suggestions?

  1. While there are a ton of licenses, there's only about 3-4 which matter IMHO: BSD, Apache, MPL and (L)GPL.

BSD is a very simple "no nonsense" license, and unless you want to ensure people share modifications, might be a nice fit for you.

  2. I would opt for BSD, if that is too much and you just want to get code out and never think of it again: WTFPL (yeah, that one exists and is legit)

  3. Thank you, gentlemen. BSD looks good.
