As somebody at the Russian discussion on the G+ changes has written: "The old design of G+ was bad. The new one is straight awful. Please Google, may we have just a bad design back?" I personally sent feedback to Google using the form at the bottom left of the page. They may not heed, but at least I know I tried to change something:-)
Aw crap. Changing the "stream layout" option to single column only applies to your home page!!!! Not the communities you read. F###ing stupid.
