    It can help, but installation time is not much shorter... anyway, both options are available (full reinstall form ISO or patch), which is good

    Not comparing the content of all 3 GB five to eight times  would help. MSI is doing this if the installer asks for "Is modified" and the file doesn't have a version resource like *.pas, *.dcu, *.h, *.cpp, *.dcp, *.o, *.a, ...
