I'm still hoping to release one or more of my components as open source this year. In looking at my third party components (some open source, some proprietary), some are compiled with debug options ON, while others are compiled as release versions. As component users, which do you prefer?

  1. You deliver as OpenSource, so let the user decide which compilation option he likes. Do NOT deliver dcu, bpl and such. Just the source for everything and some getting started instructions.

That's interesting. I've not seen that done before.

  3. Max Williams My own libraries has always been delivered as source code only. For libraries, it is really better to deliver source only: if the user is not able to rebuild it, he will probably won't be able to use it properly. this would be different for an end-user application.
