What is the minimum screen resolution would people recommend the Delphi XE4 IDE on? I know that bigger is better

  1. At work I use a 4-monitor setup that is great for the IDE, plus email, plus a SQL query editor, plus web browser, plus, plus plus- all at the same time.  You can never have too much screen real estate! :-)  I salvaged all the monitors and video cards from obsolete computers the company I work for upgraded.

  2. Kevin Powick If you have to stand far from your monitor, then you use a font which is to large. The idea wih large monitors and high resolution is to see more, not to see bigger. That's a big difference. One has to organize his [large] desktop so that everything interesting at a given moment is located in the same region of the desktop, moving other items out of the way. Just like most of us do with their [real] desktop conevered with papers, books, and gadgets. In front of you you have what you need for you current work, elsewhere on the desktop you have what you may need in a few minutes.

  3. If you have to move further from your monitor, that's not a too large font, but rather a field of view too wide for your field of vision. I am happy with my 27" at a distance which works for my prescription. A 30" would have to be further away, or I would be turning my head to see different areas. That, in turn, would require a different prescription.  Getting old is no fun.
