Is it possible for me to install the XE5 trial on my machine without messing up any of my XE2 setup, if I just disable extension associations?  Because I'm having trouble getting my Android phone hooked up to my VirtualBox vm where I'm testing XE5.

  1. Ive installed XE5 alongside XE2 and everything seems fine.

  2. Simon Stuart Now they tell me =P

Dunno about anyone else, but I tried a mobile default template, I love how it instantly set up everything to run on my phone, with literally zero effort on my part. But the app launches rather slow on my I9300. The phone itself isn't exactly slow... Don't get me wrong, in-app performance looks, fine, better than I'm used to from Android apps even, but launching it is pretty slow, takes a second or 5 to show up.

Yeah, I know, but I'm not using the debugger, I just deployed it to my phone.

  4. It may be because of the large amount of listitems being displayed, but it still shouldn't be that slow...  I guess I'll check out some other things.

  5. Hmm, other apps seem slightly faster in loading, but still not as fast as it should be.

  6. Simon Stuart OK, then, that's definitive! ;)

  7. Simon Stuart Shouldn't take that long, I got mine twice, instantly after downloading.

  8. Simon Stuart Ah, I wasn't aware of that. I'd think you'd get em sooner though.

So far, after playing around a bit, I must say I love the visual designing. Nothing I've seen so far to develop for Android can match this convenience. Some of the FMX components look sort of off on Android though. Like the TArcDial...

  9. Simon Stuart Yeah, I think I'm going to start porting my unfinished Android app I've been building in Android Studio to XE5. Should certainly speed up progress.

I'll have to get used to FMX development though.
