Something is definitely not right, code in FM for android is much slower than we'd expect. Tcanvas is only the tip of the problem, strings are a horror story.
Paul Foster i watched a webinar with the main developer of brand new FM framework - he was prouded about they did super-puper 'canvas on gpu' for ios and android and it was so good which they even don't try to use native canvas on android. Very long laugh before the loss of creation, when he began to show demos, and said that their canvas is faster than native in some places and they have even written - attention!!! - his own shader for drawing the gradients - this is where I fell under the table. OMG, what a breakthrough! I even thought that he was going to say that he was about to call from the Nobel committee for awarding the world's first premium programming, or Sergey M. Brin called and take his team in google but this did not happen and I did not inspect this comedy.
I agree. FM TCanvas' world mapping is wobbly.
ReplyDeleteDoes FM really call GetShapeRect 3 times just to draw a line?
