Has anybody used FFVCL? What are your experiences? Right now we are using TVideograbber for all of our video functionality but are not very happy with it because
a) it's very expensive, which would be ok if not
b) basically no support whatsoever and
c) very buggy

  1. Bill Meyer I am currently, right in that minute, evaluating the trial of DelphiFFMPEG (aka FFVCL). I just thought maybe someone else has used it and would like to share their experiences.

  2. i am using it...for web cam capture and movie creation. works OK...usb drivers for web cams can be flaky....putting tin foil over the usb plug on the pc end helps alot..believe it or not (helps stop electrical interference)

  3. Brian Hamilton Video transfers over USB are, as I recall, isochronous, which is a fancy way of saying that packets are delivered in real time and open-loop. In other words, like FTP, it is an unchecked protocol. As to the foil, I can easily imagine that you gain some benefit, as the most important element of any connection is a high quality ground. Even in professional video, the BNC connector used there can develop ground integrity issues, especially if the connector is moved and frequently connected or disconnected. (Think hand-held cams at sports events.)
