We have invested many years in building our application framework based on a Remote Objects and very happy we are with it as well. Now we have a problem. RO are not supporting Delphi Mobile (iOS or Android). I would like to have as much code sharing as possible between the apps. So if we were to completely redevelop our framework, what would you suggest as the base?

  1. RealThinClient technically seems to be a very good product. The company suffers from strange changes in direction, but the product seems very good and they seem very committed to Delphi.

  2. This may reveal my ignorance, but would DataSnap in XE5 work, or is it too immature yet? I ask because we also use RO, and are just starting the research process to move more mobile...

  3. I don't think it would be a bad choice. It's well established and we do use It on some apps. But if I can find a way to not have to rewrite the server end, then that is great. The rest approach outlined by Paul is where I am going to look first. Sounds promising.
