Does anyone know if Components4Developers is still in business or perhaps on vacation? I ordered and paid for a product from them yesterday and I'm still waiting for my license request to be approved. What a PITA it is to deal with these guys.

  1. So you ordered on a Sunday and expect service within a few hours?  As far as I know, Kim Madsen is still doing things and I've had reasonable service.

  2. Kim Madsen  are you around?

    Come on :)

  3. Lance Rasmussen A few hours?  Today is Monday and, AFAIK, the day is pretty much over where C4D is located.  This is no way to run a business.

  4. And why on earth is the order/delivery process so cumbersome? Order and pay for product, then create a portal account at C4D and manually request a license for the product I just paid for?  The process should be fully automated, like it is for most companies selling software.

  5. It's on business, they just delay a bit. I bought kbmmemtable a couple months ago and the response mail took a week to arrive

  6. Chriss Kalogeropoulos A WEEK?!?!  If it really could take that long, I'll cut my losses now and look for another memTable vendor.

  7. Day two and still no response from C4D.  I've decided to look elsewhere and discovered that I already own an in-memory table component in the form of DevArt's VirtualTable which is part of one of their DACs that I already own.  I guess I should be more familiar with the tools I already have before looking for others. It's hard when you have so many of them.

  8. I guess you should be lucky then and thank him that he did not take your money for something you already had :)

  9. Stefan Glienke I'll assume you're being facetious, else you've missed the point of my rant entirely.

  10. Of course I am, did you miss the smiley at the end of the sentence?
Anyway I find your rant ridiculous. If you have some business issue with someone then this is hardly the right spot to rant about it.

  11. I disagree, obviously. Personally, I appreciate hearing about the experience customers have with their vendors, good or bad.  Sorry, but it can't always be rainbows and sunshine in DelphiLand.

  12. Hi,
I just received a ping on my mobile from a Delphi fellow about this. Im sorry for the short delay.
I took the liberty of a 2 day vacation mon/tue, out of house and office and no computers nearby to bother me.... unfortunately it collided with your purchase.
I have processed the purchase and your download is readily available on the C4D portal.
    best regards

  13. Thanks for processing, but distribution of the product, like the purchasing process, should be automated.

  14. Hi,
I recognize that other companies are doing things differently, we have however chosen to handle it manually. Something that you will see also some other companies are doing or starting to do again, exactly due to too fraudulant purchases. In fact there are companies out there that  require faxes or direct voice contact between customer and seller to accept orders or renewals.
One can, with good right, argue that we dont appeal to the quick click and buy idea of some other companies selling off the shelf software, who, by this way, takes advantage of impulse purchases. Thats ok with us.
We prefer people to buy something from us because we are worth the hazle, not because of an impulse idea. That notion may not appeal to all, and we know it.

    best regards
