Q: Anyone know what happened to the ICS website?

I'm working to convert a client's software to use ICS, but it's down. Lately, I've been getting a little nervous spending time to use projects than wind up dead.

Just found out SoftwarePassport.com was discontinued. Sadly, I've been recommending it to people for wrapping their code up with a licensing-layer. Only to have them go bye-bye and require re-engineering.

  1. Hmm. I guess I should look at more commerical solutions for an ICS replacement. I not a fan of Indy, as my feeling is that it lost its way quite a while ago. Does that just leave /n software's solution for tcp/up server/clients? Or are there other packages which still support Delphi and maybe even FMX?

  2. I have a copy of ICS, downloaded a couple days after Christmas if anyone needs it between now and when François gets his web site back up.

Vin Colgin  Indy is not so bad.  I use Indy in most of my projects. Their documentation sucks but once you get it finally working in your project you don't have to mess with it again.

    Last time I looked /n = $$$

  3. Reinier Sterkenburg posted the following on linkedin which he got from from Angus Robertson:

"Unfortunately, the DNS records for overbyte.be seem to have been
temporarily lost so neither of the ICS web sites has been available since
last Friday, and I've been unable to upload the new SSL files.

Meanwhile, the ICS nightly zips and SSL binaries can be downloaded from the
ICS component page at my web site:

    http://www.magsys.co.uk/delphi/magics.asp

and the SVN repository is available at:

    svn://svn.magsys.co.uk/ics or http://svn.magsys.co.uk:8443/svn/ics

Note this is a permanent URL for the SVN repository."
