Delphi IDE on a Windows 8.1 tablet:
- day 01: after some hours and reboots, I've finally managed to change the windows language from chinese to english :)
- the SSD is 32 GB, but I have only 16 out of 24 available (!)
- I can make more space available by removing the recovery partition (3.5 GB) and hack a bit to move some folders and apps to a SD card
- there are 2GB of RAM
- main purposes are: test my softwares on a tablet and install Delphi for study, some tests and light development
questions:
1. which Delphi version should I install to get most of recent features without using too much space? XE2? (on my desktop I have and use D7, 2009, XE2 and XE6)
2. any link to a minimum installation of Delphi IDE with options and dependencies?

ReplyDeletejust not sure how to do the network/web install, if I understood you mean using the desktop to direct the web installer to the tablet? I will try a search on that!
(I was thinking of using a pendrive and then find and delete those {9uerfj89jfjf90f390f3} folders after the install)
I use only Delphi, I'm planning to upgrade to XE7 soon but for the tablet I think a stable version is better, as the Delphi updates usually leaves a lot of garbage behind...
