Now that LogMeIn is a paid service with less features than the free version, what are you using to remote into a machine behind a firewall? I need to be able to get to my Delphi dev machine while I am on the road.
Can't you set up port forwarding in your firewall/router? Just use RDP - it is built in to Windows and works reasonably well. RDP + Multi-monitor setups are slightly problematic, but other that that, it works great. Using different TCP/IP port numbers and forwarding, you can access all of the PCs on your LAN individually.
Did Microsoft finally add some secure encryption to the RDP protocol? If so, I could maybe stop tunneling through ssh. OTOH that would mean exposing a windows computer to the internet (shudders).
Daniela Osterhagen I am almost positive there is some sort of encryption going on, at least on >= Win7. RDP complains about security/encryption if you try to connect to an older windows version like XP. Always use a strong password if the host machine is exposed to the WAN.
