If you are using Delphi XE2, keep in mind your "upgrade window" ends December 31st. After December 31st, you'll need to pay full price for a license. If you upgrade to XE7, you can consider maintenance (particularly if you are into mobile) or taking advantage of the recharge program in the future.

  1. Marco Cantù I'm not on XE2 but I'm curious about the recharge program, What are the constraints (if any) of the recharge program ? I can see it is "cheaper" to stay up to date but I don't know if I am giving up something with it

  2. There are no real constraints for recharge. It is basically a half price upgrade from the previous versions, that needs to be bought within a specific time frame (I think recharge from XE6 to XE7 also expires by the end of December). Once you have either an XE7 license or have recharged XE6 to XE7, you'll be able to pay the same "half-price" to update to XE8 and so on.
Differently from maintenance/subscriptions, there is no obligation and no upfront payment. If you don't like a release, you can skip it and get back to standard updates if and when you like.
Given how fast mobile platforms are evolving (after we released XE7 we got iOS 8 and Android 5) we can offer some core compatibility features, but full support for newer technologies does require an upgrade to a new version of our tools.
