  2. Nándor Kiss I find it sad that you can so easily dismiss a noob who is learning. Its people like you that break a person down because you think you are better than them. For sure this is the last time i ever ask a question here, i'll go elsewhere in future for help as its clearly a crime to ask a question especially if it is a silly one.. thanks, i hope this makes you feel better... To those who tried to help, thank you.

    Please, don't misunderstand me.

I don't dismissed You, I had some suggestions to Your code.
I don't think I'm better than any other.

But I don't want to tell everybody the basics (eg. how to create an object instance properly, what properties, fields, methods are, how threads working, etc), I think, You have to learn by Yourself.

I'm working (and I feel most of us do) so I don't have the time to copy-paste the Delphi's Help (even urls) into threads.

Do the basics (eg. "Hello World!") :)

When We tell You the solution, You'll learn nothing.

  4. My take: There are no stupid questions. The second best way to learn, is to learn from your peers. The best way - although time wise taxing - is to learn by research, trial and error.

  5. Marek D I thought that thread was great - you had a problem, and rather than just getting a solution, you were interested in understanding the problem and learning - which IMO is a fantastic attitude. You posted code, had a good discussion, lots of people helped, you learned a lot - all up it was a great thread.  You probably won't need anyone to help next time you get the same error, because now you understand more about types and what that error means, which is a good outcome!

You are welcome here in this community, and I'm sorry if you feel unwelcome - please stick around. You're also welcome to ask questions here (and also I would suggest on Stack Overflow, which is a dedicated question-and-answer site.) So long as we see you've put genuine effort into trying to solve your problem, and are trying to learn rather than just get someone to write code for you, I think you'll find everyone is welcoming and happy to help. Lots of people chipped in in that thread and I'm sure will again. All of us were 'noobs' at some point!
