Yesterday, for the first time, I tried to create a multi-device app on XE7. Selected the app type in the wizard, clicked the button, and the IDE crashed. Made three tries, same result each time. I have update 1 in place, is there something else needed to make this work?

UPDATE: I have e-mailed Andy Hausladen with info from the Windows Event viewer. Uninstalling the fixpack, however, did not solve the problem.

IDE Fixpack maybe the culprit? I do notice that the IDE Colorizer plugin crashes when I close XE7.
ReplyDeletePhillip Woon Apparently so, but perhaps not. Andy says not, as removing the fixpack does not eliminate the problem. However, I have learned from a colleague who built the VM that some changes were made which may be responsible.
ReplyDeleteNOT an IDE Fixpack fault. I found that the guy who built the VM left out the x-plat stuff to keep it smaller.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the real fault, I think, is that with x-plat not installed, the menu item is still present and enabled, and second, that the IDE crashes.
