FreeSparta is now really free (new interface for Lazarus (similar to Delphi), and Generics.Collections library).

Soon will be possible to implement compatible ToolsAPI interface :).

I have hope that Lazarus team can merge some changes to main trunk of Lazarus (maybe with some changes/better naming for classes and methods) :)

    Interesting - especially the ToolsAPI interface idea.  There were some nice additions to the UI I saw in the video, could benefit Lazarus a lot to pull them in.

    What is the future of the FreeSparta project now?

    David Millington - I am not sure.

    Lars Fosdal - Not funny. You are ignorant. Open source part was always free and open. Now any closed source commercial independent package (generics.collections library, sparta basic, starter and professional) is opened and free of charge. It is my hard work. I dont violate any open source license.

    That was quite a strongly worded article. I suspect it didn't help FreeSparta much at the time :/
