A question for anyone on FastReports: I see in my XE7 VM and in my XE5 VM, that FR is apparently installed. At least, if I go to Control Panel, Change, Modify, and look at the tree, it appears to be present. However, I see nothing in the component palette, nor anywhere else, that would confirm it. What should I look for? Or is there some secondary install to do?
Yes, Bill Meyer the freebies are only for exploring. For deployment you need to subscribe fully. Having 10+ yrs of experience with Crystal and FR (and some other) i'd say: go FR. Some steep curves in the beginning. Depending on your needs, some more. But in the end - if you want legible source code, superior flexibility and integration into your VCL/FMX* then FR is the way to go. *I do not have hands-on experience with the FMX side of things.
ReplyDeleteDany Marmur Of course, I understand the freebies are insufficient for deployment. But we have been in RB only, and there are numerous issues which I like to think might not appear in FR or other alternative. We need dynamic construction more than static design.
