Added post thumbnails on https://www.beginend.net/, what do you think?

(FWIW  they are generated by the DWScript Web Server + PhantomJS + pngquant)

  1. I was there few seconds ago and I didn't even notice them :)

They are useless to me, but they are also not distracting me from anything and it's not that they use some important space so - I don't care :)

  2. I'm only using the RSS feed, so I don't see them.

  3. Same opinion as Primož Gabrijelčič - they add no actual value for me. Even when hovering over them they are too small to be able to read anything.

  4. Stefan Glienke Would having larger versions be worth it?

    Something like

    * hover to get a slightly blown up version (like now, so it's no too annoying if you hover by mistake)
    * click to get a large, readable image
    * click again (or double click) to go to the post/website

  5. Eric Grange Not for me. Most of the time I read only the caption and check the blog name to decide whether to click on a link or not.

  6. I rather like them. I identify a number of blogs by their visual style (eg. Marco's distinctive colour scheme) so this helps me quickly scan for what's of interest.

Thank you very much for begin/end by the way, it's really useful. You should add a "Donate" button!

  7. Eric Grange Again I fully agree with Primož Gabrijelčič  As follower of former Delphifeeds and now beginend I know most of the blogs and their usual content and if it interests me. A thumbnail will not change that.

  8. The best website thumbnails I saw before is the speed dial page in Opera 12.

  9. They are affecting the scroll-bars (ie viewport size) when hovering over them (and their size is transformed). And THAT is really annoying. Otherwise i have no qualms.

  10. Dany Marmur You are using FireFox? if yes this is a bug/feature of FireFox, IE/Chrome should not be affected.

  11. Eric Grange im on a modern Chrome in Win10.

Size the window so that the vertical right edge is close to the right edge of the pics (close enough that they will overflow-x). See to it that you see the scrollbars (i.e. turn off "pad-mode" - on the mac insert a mouse on win 10 disable "pad-mode", don't know the name in english).

Then move the mouse over the pics and you can see the scrollbars flickering.

    Not super-important though :)
