The rotating comments on posts are distracting, and the now small counters for +1 and Shares do not stand out. I really dislike how so many desktop applications and platforms are clearly moving towards mobile. It oversimplifies desktop interfaces, making them "fat" and clumsy, IMO.

I switched back to the old interface immediately after seeing the new.
ReplyDeleteThe new iPad version is also much worse. The card view has switched to a list view (Google should have noticed that the iPad isn't an iPhone) with much less posts on the screen. The number of unread items per collection has also gone. The order of collections, where the last accessed collection comes first is also gone. No way to go back :(
ReplyDeleteSergey Kasandrov Hey, thanks for the hint. I didn't realize one could switch back. So much better!!!
ReplyDeleteyup, not very impressed with the experience here on a desktop. Thanks for the hint regarding switching back!
ReplyDeleteHmm, looks like I'm the only one who likes the new layout. Maybe it's because I don't use the web version on full screen.
ReplyDeleteI also don't like the new one.
ReplyDeleteI just switched back! First i was happy about the fact that i do not have to make the browser-window narrow in order to get one column of posts. I really hate the left-to-right liststyle. But then i tried to read some comment and to comment. Bah!
