  1. Eli M "It's possible they are working on it. Both Linux server and 64bit Mac are listed in their "Under Technical Investigation" section of the 2015 roadmap. "

And adding parallel programming support to the language was on their roadmap for eight years too.

Actually, to quote Allan Bauer from seven years ago:

"As was mentioned, anonymous methods are a step toward some kind of LINQ-like functionality. However, my ultimate goal is to use this underlying mechanism for increased parallelism both in terms of a library-based solution in the near-future and ultimately as intrinsic parallel-computing functionality of the language itself.
Building the foundation is the first step in building a house."

  2. David Heffernan Is it plausible today to offer a Windows-only language? In an age when Microsoft is adding Linux as a target to C# and contributing code to the Linux kernel (to aid running on Hyper-V)?

Now if you were going to argue that most of the Delphi users are maintaining legacy Windows applications, you'd have a point. On the other hand, mobile was their "Plan A" for growing users and they don't seem to have a "Plan B". It would be making existing users happier at the expense of dooming any hoped-for expansion of users/revenue base.

  3. Eli M We are CLOSE.

I was chatting with some MS Azure devs on Reddit and they freely admitted they built a certain piece of demo technology they were showing off on Linux because Windows container support wasn't very good at the moment. :-) WE ARE LIVING IN STRANGE AND AMAZING TIMES.
