Hello

Hello,

I'm looking for a good industrial barcode reader. Device must run under Android and must obviously be compatible with Delphi (Seattle).

I'm currently working with Honeywell Black 70e devices but this hardware is really slow...

  1. Cristian Peța, I'm waiting for a test device. I just hope that it will works without any problem with Delphi / FMX

  2. I tested it in aug.2015 for 2-3 days while implementing new barcode API and I have not encountered any issues.
But like for 70e I worked without debugging from the IDE and manually installing apk file. So I don't know how this works.

  3. I will be creating an app for something like this:

A customer of mine has chosen this PDA for replacing old Dophin devices.

  4. We use hundreds of Intermec scanners and handheld/hip computers.  Very tough and solid products. We use the Windows versions, though,.

    Android handheld:

    SDK

Someone needs to do a Delphi wrapper of the .jar classes, though.

We use these (and their predecessors) even more

But I don't know if these come in an Android version.

  5. Sven Harazim Well, the Windows ones just keep on working until you physically break them. They "bounce" real well, and can take a lot of punishment. Having the latest/greatest OS is not always a must. Sometimes tried and tested is just as fine.

    As for RFID:

  6. Marcin Bury did you get your hand on it ? Is debugging, FMX and so on working on this device ? How much euro does such device cost ? (no need to be accurate)
Lars Fosdal I'm mainly looking for min. 4.4 Android devices. I fear having issues with Delphi with such "old" devices

  7. The device is on my desk. I did not have time to create any fmx application to test it, actually it will be my first fmx project, so quite a lot of learning ahead of me ;-). The price is around 350 USD and we imported it directly from China (alibaba probably - I don't have details).
