They should really push this again once Idera takes over. I passed the test and received the certificate but Microsoft does it much better with their programs.
I never cared much for certifications. I'm neither certified by Novell, Microsoft, Borland/Embarcadero or any other owner of a product I've ever used. And in addition I'm vary about people who apply for a job with one of these certifications. It's a piece of paper, but what does it signify? It has turned out too often, they mean only somebody is good at taking tests.
Missing "Never Sat For One", so I will go with "Never Heard Of It"

ReplyDeleteWhat is, exactly, that the certification certifies? :D I mean, besides the marketing talk, what is it that it makes sure of?
ReplyDeleteI think should have another option: I've heard of it but I just don't care about certification.

ReplyDeleteCertification just means you passed a test and that you knew the questions within a time period and you knew the subject.
ReplyDeleteThis is just a method to boost the ego. For myself it is a good measuring tool of where I stand.
Customers are more interested in a profile/cv showing concrete projects I worked on than certificates
