This is a joke about the bug with the missing technology (ActiveX) if you use the newest installer. Maybe this is not bug - I don't know... but... just use the ISO file. This is my recommendation.
Isn't there another parallel thread asking the same? In short, not planned for sure, not sure how it will be amended (need to figure out the cause first), and there is an internal report but feel free to add a public report (so everyone gets feedback) and I'll link the two.
Marco Cantù I'm sorry Marco you are right - this doubling is my fault but I just wanted to add a different picture with a little more optimistic feel. And of course a news for that the problem is in some kind resolved.
In the first thread I was very upset because the ActiveX is a very important part of my job and till now Embarcadero always helps me to finish it fast and easily. I hope my picture jokes are not so bad in this situation. The humor is always better than the panic. :)
No need to reinstall from ISO to get back the ActiveX support. There is a workaround I'm double checking -- just a registry issue -- and will probably share soon
OK, you can try this. Close RAD/Delphi. Open the registry editor. Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, open the Known IDE Packages\Delphi -- that is something like HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Embarcadero\BDS\18.0\Known IDE Packages\Delphi -- see the value for delphicompro240.bpl, edit it, and remove the __ pre-pended to the value (Untitled). In other word, change "__(Untitled)" into "(Untitled)". Close registry editor. Open the IDE. Works for me.
That's annoying :/
ReplyDeleteDo you need to do a complete reinstall or is there a "repair" mode?
ReplyDeleteNo, no. I made a new install on a different PC and the result is good - ActiveX is there.
ReplyDeleteMarco Cantù - Can this be amended through GetIt?
ReplyDeleteOh, there are also some other entries missing (XML, Multitier) at least in my setup (Enterprise).
ReplyDeleteFred Ahrens I see the same. ActiveX, Inheritable Items, Multitier, and XML is not present in my web installed RX 10.1 Enterprise.
ReplyDeleteIs there a QP issue for this yet?

NP, just duplicating answers take some more time.
