I have just uploaded a first beta of Package Magician, a plugin to handle project specific packages inside the IDE. If anyone is interested trying it out please join this Google Space: https://goo.gl/spaces/JuFpwWkXqugXkLCv6

  1. What is it? The URL led me to https://spaces.google.com/ServiceNotAllowed, which shows "404. That’s an error.

The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know.".

*update*: Got to that page after going into Incognito mode... This plugin sounds interesting, if you would support XE4 ;)

  2. Edwin Yip Support for older Delphi versions is planned, although I cannot say how far down the road I will go.

  3. shlomo abuisak That is not the URL given in the Space. Where did you get this link from?

  4. Now available for all versions from XE to Berlin.

  5. shlomo abuisak The URL is case sensitive. Seems something in your system has silently changed it to all lowercase, which will not work as you found out. The correct link is http://www.raabe-software.de/download/PackageMagician.zip

  7. shlomo abuisak So then. Seems like you are not using a lot of plugins for Delphi. I don't know of many that come with sources.

  8. Uwe Raabe cnPack, GExperts and JCL do, but those are about the only big ones I know of. Most small ones don't, though that is slowly changing. But it would be nice to have source just for the sake of learning.

  9. Uwe Raabe My computer is my life and i will not put any thing i have no control over it.Even if it is made out of gold. Every thing i use i have sources. I do not use sources for the sake of stealing knowledge but to make sure i do not put some thing that cripple my time and work.

  12. Cristian Peța There is no room to try to control and understand everything and one has to make a cut somewhere. He does not have the OS source nor the plans and so on for the hardware, but if he wants to control everything on top of RAD Studio on Windows it is his decision.

I do not like stuff without source as well, but make exceptions and do understand the authors that do not release the source.
