Hey guys

Hey guys,

What is the difference of meaning between "Powered by" and "Build with"?

Thanks a lot

  1. Not my native tongue but I think they are generally synonymous. Both incorporates something from thisthing . The diff? might just be how someone words a phrase.

  2. I think it should be "Built with". Another phrase is "Made with love", if you really did that ;)

  3. I'd say "Built with" is more neutral, while "Powered by" sounds more enthusiastic.

  4. I'd say "Powered by" is when using a framework (Graphic/Physic engines, Audio-Frameworks), and "Built with" for used Toolchains o.O?

  5. I'd say that "Built with" indicates implementation - i.e. that something is made using a specific toolset, versus "Powered by ToolX" which indicates integration, meaning that ToolX is a central part of the system, but not necessarily the only part.

  6. Build = compile = intrinsic. Powered by = not linked but a part (important) of deployment details. Powered by firebird, built with/using Open ssl (or whatever).

  7. It was traditional for a while for Delphi developers to put "powered by Delphi" and even "powered by JEDI JVCL" and other badges in their help about boxes. "Built with" (not BUILD WITH) would be appropriate if the compiler used was Delphi.
