12 videos in total: how to make the simplest report, different ways to make master/detail and banded reports, cross tabulation, visualizing values using color scales and diagrams, using extensions (to display fields in a special way, or to process special data queries)
You can see some reports from the videos exported to HTML, for example http://www.trichview.com/support/forumfiles/calendar.html

  1. How does it compare to FastReport?

  2. John Kouraklis , this is VCL component. We are working to convert our components to FireMonkey, but it requires time. Results are word processing documents, they can be exported to HTML, RTF, DocX. With additional components (for example, free Synopse PDF Engine), they can be exported to PDF.

  3. Edwin Yip , our reporting components are based on a text editor, while FastReport is more like a vector graphic editor. So, in FastReport, you have more freedom to place objects as you want, but in ReportWorkshop making reports is much more simple. In FR, you need to align objects together to make a beautiful report, in RW, objects are placed according to a natural text flow; in RW, you can create a nice report in code without specifying a single coordinate. In FR, user operates many special objects; in RW, there is only a single special object - a report table. In RW, both templates and results are word processing documents, so results are editable (and templates are more easy to modify, you do not need to realign everything to add or remove something to a template). In RW, you can change the appearance of a template or a result by applying styles, like in MS Word. In RW, 90% of UI commands are known for users who already familiar with text editors like MS Word, so it is more easy to learn than FR. In RW, results may be exported to HTML, RTF or DocX with a higher quality, the documents will have a natural text flow, not consisting of floating objects placed at coordinates.
On the other hand, FR is a mature product that has been evolving for a long time; our text engine has been developed for about 15 years, while its reporting features are new.
Sorry for so much text )
