ReplyDeleteSigh... forgot to synch... I hate this.
ReplyDeleteDone now!
ReplyDeleteI think more elaborate commit messages would be nice as well removing .dcu files.

All those shouldn't be in a git repository. (ignore list)
Never got to the code. I stopped looking when I saw the request that you must participate in the community in order to use the code.
ReplyDeleteMike Margerum, yes, it's the bare minimum: answering here, on FB, on the forums, providing your own source code or pull requests to the libraries, these are all things that help fellow developers. That's one of the big problems of the ecosystem: everyone takes and very few give back. That has got to change. This is also why I haven't asked to include it in GetIt (which does not mean it would surely be accepted, but I haven't asked).
ReplyDeleteIf you don't want people to take and not give back then use a GPL license. But, trying to enforce collaboration through a license is a bit silly.
ReplyDeleteMike Margerum, that is entirely possible, but maybe it looks silly simply because it has not been tried yet :)
ReplyDeleteVery often, that is the case with things that help with change :)
IANAL but I am not sure how such license could ever be enforced if its so vague ("in any way actively contribute POSITIVELY") - but I like the idea.
ReplyDeleteStefan Glienke, would you REALLY expect such a license to be enforceable? I don't think so and that is not even the point of it.
ReplyDeleteAndrea Raimondi No, see https://opensource.org/faq#restrict
