This is how Emba gets things done nowdays? Not impressed.
ReplyDeleteThey could hire some freelancers to fix Delphi bugs. I could fix a couple of them for free.
ReplyDeleteleaving the outsourcing thing aside (not a good thing imho), turning getit into a store instead of a proper package manager... meh!
ReplyDeleteI'd laugh if it wasn't so sad.
ReplyDeleteVincent Parrett I think the store thing is just for explanation. Ans they're looking for some consultants / developer relations guys reporting to sales.
ReplyDeleteMohammed Nasman Where did it say anything about implementing anything? Release Manager is the job title according to the description provided.
ReplyDeleteStefan Glienke , You are right, sorry, I misunderstood it, I thought they want to implement a release manage component the integration of third party tools(Paid ones) to GetIt, I edit the post.

ReplyDeleteWelcome to globalism. I posted up a Delphi job recently and already have ~20 Delphi freelancers w/ 3-15 years of experience bidding to complete it.
ReplyDeleteEli M Will the output be any good?
ReplyDeleteDavid Heffernan Yes, my projects are generally successful. I have been doing this for years. Sometimes I hire 2-3 guys that all build the same project simultaneously and separate from each other. One out of three is usually a good even if the others burn out. This just happened with an XCode project. 1 dev failed. 1 version was not what the client wanted and 1 is complete and successful. The successful version is a Hong Kong + Ukraine + Sweden combo. High quality code from expert developers. All on time and under budget.
ReplyDeleteEli M Amazing. Couldn't work for me because of the knowledge needed to work on my codebase.
ReplyDeleteIf you can compartmentalize a piece and then part out that single piece it might. What also happens is freelancers can get overwhelmed. You send them the whole project and they freeze up. That is what happened with the failed XCode dev. Trickling the project to them piece by piece or not even showing the whole project can make it achievable. You can also cut them off if the piece they do isn't quality before it gets too far. Bring back the pieces and integrate.
ReplyDeleteEli M Wouldn't work for me, I am sure, but good for you if you can make it work
