Does anyone have or know where I could get a copy of the (originally free) Icarus Uses Analyser? The website seems up (http://www.peganza.com/products_icarus.html) but the download page is missing.

(Having a problem with FMX unit initialization order - FMX.forms initialises before FMX.Platform & this causes access violation when finalization sections are called in the wrong order & I can't figure out why. Difficulty = mixing VCL & FMX)

Thanks in advance.

  1. CNWizards has a uses analyzer too, give it a try.

  2. Darian Miller I would be very careful with anything from that site!

  3. Uwe Raabe Agree'd... but I'd be careful with any site.  I did send support@peganza.com a note letting them know their main download link for Icarus isn't working along with a link to this G+ post.

  4. You can add units to your project explicitly so you can force a specific initialization order. This should fix the problem, if that's the real cause, no?

  5. Alexandre Machado that's what I thought too but I don't seem to be able to force it that way. FMX.Forms initialises before FMX.Platform. Unfortunately this screws up the finalization b/c FMX.Forms accesses TPlatformServices.SupportPlatformService which has variables that have been free'd by the FMX.Platform finalization section. I've tried putting FMX.Platform as the 2nd unit (behind FastMM4) in the dpr & still no joy.

  6. Darian Miller Uwe Raabe grabbed the zip from software.informer -- I've scanned it & it reports nothing, but still not sure if I'm brave enough to install - lol :) :)

  7. Heinz Toskano installed latest cnPack nightly build & couldn't see the uses analyser. I see the "List used..." function - but that's not really what I need. Thanks though.

  8. Stuart Clennett Chicken!  : )   Hopefully Peganza fixes their download page...otherwise, spin up a VM, copy the setup file in, disable the networking and any built-in shares with the VM, and do some trial work there.  When done, delete the VM.   It's probably also available on other download sites...check Torry pages.

  9. Darian Miller heh heh, yeah I know ;) I work in a VM so might have to isolate that and take a snapshot just before :)

  10. hmmm, Google Chome doesn't have much confidence in torry.net: "The site ahead contains harmful programs. Attackers on torry.net might attempt to trick you into installing programs that harm your browsing experience (for example, by changing your homepage or showing extra ads on sites that you visit)." #sigh
