Use the XNResourceEditor.exe (the link you gave) On XNResourceEditor.exe file itself. On the bitmap and all kind of errors. Access violation ,Stream,Out of memory. I have a ver 3.0.0.1 (that works) that is much smaller then yours 648k ,yours 1939k. I suspect it is older? As you said it is a mess. can you fix your version as it is the last ver? and notify us?
Just open file execute (XNResourceEditor.exe) with XNResourceEditor.exe. Window 7. Well now OK. may be because i opened the OLD 3.0.0.1 and going back to 3.0.1 If you can try on a FRESH COMPUTER ? In any case now it is ok.
shlomo abuisak I hate it when bugs aren't reproducible. I opened the exe with itself and tried a lot of things. It's not possible to save, but that's no wonder, when the program is running. It doesn't give any error message though, that's a bug. Regarding the executable size: No idea why that is, maybe Colin used an executable packer? Or was compiling with runtime packages? The source is the last one I could find. I doubt that he improved on that later, since he released the source when he lost interest in Delphi.
Thomas Mueller P.s those are the zip i have xn_resourceeditor_3.0.0.1_source.zip d12componentpackages.zip [SRC]XNResourceEditor.7z If you need just tell me
As for the bugs in days of assembler i thought usually to be software but often it was electronics. If we did not have bugs it was not our profession.
