SNAPPY is 400% faster than SynLZ (the fastest similar algo on Delphi) on uncompress and offers a better compression ratio
1GB test file, corei7 2.6ghz
COMPRESS
Snappy compress in 2.69s, size=508411112, 179.9 MB/s
SynLZ compress in 3.66s, size=532219716, 138.4 MB/s
UNCOMPRESS
Snappy uncompress in 952.86ms, size=1043862016, 1 GB/s
SynLZ uncompress in 3.84s, size=1043862016, 258.6 MB/s
I have updated the lib in www.dellapasqua.com/snappy64

Look, is all ok with LLVM, but about Intel and MSVC, in their license we cannot use in "competing" products, allright? ... hmmm :-\
ReplyDeleteMSVC is part of the system, so you can use it freely from any application.
ReplyDeleteIntel TBB has a new license, which is somewhat permissive, and you definitively has the right to use it as an external .dll binary in any kind of applications, IIRC.
ok, I'll restore, give some days :)
