What's these go-byes you put in parenthesis after your handle? I get floeff but now i see that dummzeuch might not be what i previously thought it was.
ReplyDeleteDany Marmur "Dummzeuch" or rather "dummes Zeuch" (Zeuch is slang for Zeug) in German literally translates to "stupid stuff" and means "jokes" or "funny stories" or just generally "things that aren't meant to be taken seriously".
ReplyDeleteThe background simply is that many years ago I was looking for a domain name that wasn't likely to attract any companies or other entities with deep pockets and lawyers who might want to take it from me.
Ah, my late father spoke Yiddsh fluently and i was battered in school with German for at least 5 years. So you can see my "confusion" when (floeff) turned up :)
