I have tried this twice, with exactly same results.

After removed 10.1 did you restart the computer? I guess that some files weren't removed due that they were used by some processes and then replacing the bpl files (or others) during installation the updated wasn't successful.
ReplyDeleteI recommend to:
1. remove 10.1,
2. restart computer,
3. check if all files were removed and remove from \Program Files, \Program Files(x86), \Users\Public, \Users\[username] that are in Embarcadero folder. You can left only registration key files (but I don't remember right now where they are placed, but somewhere under \Users folder)
4. restart computer
5. Run installation of the Update.
I did, but I'll try those steps, as you wrote them now. Just in case I missed something.
ReplyDeleteI remember that I had similar errors when I installed Delphi 10.1 Berlin on Windows 7 64bit on VMWare machine. Before I had there Delphi 10 Seattle and everything worked fine. I removed the Seattle and all files/folder for the Delphi and still got the errors in bpl file (but I don't remember which one)
ReplyDeleteTried the installation process few times.
The errors happen on various moments after executing Delphi. I was able to work with Delphi but in about 5-30 minutes I got the error and I had to restart Delphi.
Then I installed Windows 10 on the VMWare machine and Delphi 10.1 Berlin. After that everything was fine till now.
No, the result remains exactly the same :(
ReplyDeleteBtw, I use the ISO image for installing.

ReplyDeleteMaciej Wierzbowski, for me, it does not even start at all. I see the splash screen, get those two errors and then Delphi quits... ;(
ReplyDeleteHey Daniel Wischnewski, LTNS! Ouch, that's a lot of time wasted. :-/ Hope you can resolve it soon. Could you then please share the steps? Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem.
ReplyDeleteBut for me it all happened with the Anniversary Update. (Happy Anniversary. 😤)
Been on the problem all day. It started with missing .net
This is very strange. I have Update 1 running on 2 different Windows 10 Anniversary Update systems, a physical PC and a VM on my Mac. One Regular and Enterprise (Windows, I mean, not RAD). Both working fine, so I doubt it relates with the version of Windows...
ReplyDeleteAfter uninstalling all embarcadero tools and reinstalling RAD Studio 10.1.1 I am able to work with my ide again. Let's see what happens after installing TMS ....
ReplyDeleteMarco Cantù, possibely someone from R&D interested in looking at it via TeamViewer?
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the remote session. Reach me over email, and I'll see what I can do...
ReplyDeleteI did not mention, that I migrated all settings first, but yes I did. I tried it with a clean install as well as with reimporting my old settings. Nothing of the steps described above helps - the IDE simply does not start,
ReplyDeleteДинар Шарифуллин. Only thing I did not, was trying to start the IDE under a different Reg-Key (-r switch), which I'll di later, but I doubt that will make any difference.
Also use LicenseManager to check license status, just in case something went wrong there...
ReplyDeleteSo, nothing from the above worked - didn't find that distiller without having to register anywhere.
ReplyDeleteMarco Cantù: the license has been removed (by uninstaller?) - anyway, it is not shown in the list.
Same result with web installer - nothing I can do to get it running in my VM :(
ReplyDeleteThat sounds very odd -- you can reach support, or try to re-register the license manually
ReplyDeleteSurely you have solved it, however I will leave it as a record for other people.
ReplyDeleteCheck and uninstall all third-party components after removing RAD Studio, from the "Uninstall Programs".
For example FastReport, TMS Software, etc ...
That worked well for me, with Update 2 of Berlin also happening.

Today, I have found the solution in my case: https://plus.google.com/+DanielWischnewski/posts/1UjEbAT6j7f?sfc=true (BugReport to DevJet) Marco Cantù
ReplyDeleteGood to know and thanks for the report...
ReplyDeleteWow, I knew one of those was but I did not know which one ... I also use DocInsight
ReplyDeleteJhonny Arley Suarez Gutierrez, I added a quick fix in the bug report mentioned above, in case you want to try that ;)
