Maciej Wierzbowski That's for if the database is hosted on a different machine. It's also possible to run mysql locally on the device, in which case this is not very good advice. (But for a remote database, yes, that's definitely the way to go.)
+Mason Wheeler is right. I forgot that someone released MySql database for iOS (and maybe other platforms too) few years ago. I haven't tried it yet because preferred SQLite.
