My XPS 15 has two major problems; whenever i plug the AC in the fan starts even though temp is low. A problem in private use, not office use. Also, the power adapter makes an annoying noise when consumption is higher. So i have used the battery a lot (fans not needed even for streaming video from the net) and that degraded it much withing a year.
Apart from that and the general criticism you can find out there (like the rugged palmrest are is difficult to clean) the machine is great; especially the general build quality. It feel very solid an reliable and there's an official non-disclosed service manual!
Dany Marmur Thanks for the insight. The fan noise can be a problem actually in my case. In terms of support by Dell, did you ever contacted them? Any experience with their service?
They are ok. You'd always like better support. They won't replace as promptly as say Lenovo seems to do. But i think that is much about where your support center is located. I guess Dell is generally considered good for business end stuff.
