  1. Steve Maughan javascript certainly has peaked according to google trends, but google trends for "Python" is also affected by the snake (unlike for javascript)

    For instance see https://www.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=python,snake

    Both show a similar long-term upward trend (though python is less "seasonal"), so part of the uptrend of python comes from the uptrend of snakes.

  2. Eric Grange I personally think the "snake" contamination of "python" searches is minimal YMMV. For it to matter, the search term needs to include python snake, not just "snake". Note, it's my understanding Google Trends is reporting search terms, not search results. From this chart you can see this search term is tiny.
