Feel free to chime in in these discussions... but better wait visiting my blog, as the current traffic is way above what the site can handle -- 1,200 active sessions, very high traffic because of the images...

I'll check for the robots.txt. Blog is on old infrastructure (a VM) and not keeping up. 1,500+ active sessions -- unique visitors past 20 min. I know I have to migrate it, but doing so keep the content is not trivial
ReplyDeleteI tend to agree with the fella regarding the steep update price. $900+/year is not something I'm going to shell out. I'll just go several years without updating (I went ~15 years on D5)
ReplyDeleteMake it something a little more reasonable ($200-$250) for the little guys and I'd likely update year after year after year.
Delphi Starter is an excellent offer for amateurs and open source projects. It's good if more people will know about it. It would be great if the new version of Starter would include the Linux compiler, but I know this is hardly possible.
ReplyDeleteif you are on update subscription, it is more like 300$ a year and not 900+
ReplyDeleteAccording to the bill sent to me at the time it was $843 This is Enterprise edition.
ReplyDeleteIt's a little more than 800 for the annual subscription which is more than reasonable IMO
ReplyDeleteMy apologies to Marco Cantù I didn't mean to derail your stream.
ReplyDeleteMike Margerum not IMHO
