Dammit, this has shown up in my email as "[Delphi Developers] As of today, I have stopped developing GExperts..." and I almost freaked out :)

So what are your plans regarding future development and stable releases? Personally I like my IDE plugins to be rock solid and with minimal risk to bring any stability issues to the IDE and I dislike installing any daily trunk versions.
ReplyDeleteOops, took me a while to get it: It sounded like I was announcing the death of GExperts in the email. Sorry about that.
ReplyDeleteStefan Glienke No plans at all. I will release new GExperts versions when I feel like it. And I will continue to call them experimental. There will be no rigorous testing, since nobody has volunteered to take on that responsibility. I will be using the latest development version in my daily work, so for now you can assume that at least the Delphi 2007 and XE2 versions are reasonably stable. This will change once I move on to newer versions, but unfortunately I don't see that in the near future.

ReplyDeleteIt says so in the error message: "This version of the product (Delphi) does not support command line compiling ". There is nothing I can do about it. But you are free to simply compile in the IDE instead.
Regarding "perfect layout": That's a feature only available in Delphi 6 and 7.

Search with DXE found plenty !!!!

shlomo abuisak are you aware that the desktop option, which exists since at least Delphi 5 makes the Perfect Layout expert redundant? If the latter doesn't work, my fix would most likely be to remove it from the projects again.

I never had d5 went from 4 to 6.
