Could anyone suggest where software products could be registered/certified in Europe to get on market?

  1. I'm not from Romania but from Moldova, and I do have a local company.
I was discussing with some potential clients and they were asking me about certification.
That's where my question comes from.

  2. What you shall have clear before is:
What kind of Certification is required by your clients, if it.

In other case, if you want, you can register the application, with special emphasis, in the name of it and his code. This may be made as Intellectual Property Registering.

In the European Union, as long as my knowledge reach, you can't pantent software.
But there is a trick. If you link your software with a industrial innovation, you can patent both as the same thing.

I know that this theme may be polemic. Because of this I warn: I'm programmer, not lawyer. Thanks to be consecuent with this point.

  3. Are your customers asking whether you have a registered company and certifications for the company (eg, ISO) or if the application has certifications (eg. to comply with standards? Microsoft certified developer or something like this comes to mind)

  4. R Gosp these things are very interesting. Please come back here when you have clarified what your client asks for so that others (like me) can follow the discussion.
