The daily price swings have me so so confused. oh, wait, there's more Now I see a deal at 48%. Is there any value in these wares, and if so, what is it exactly?

What is the value of a database company that constantly spams you to buy something they know you already own?

TJoe is confused...

  1. There already is a long term trend to have a second TV set, a second car - some actually have a second life. Why not a second Delphi license?

  3. Uwe Raabe here in the USA, that "trend" you speak of about having a second car or TV is about 50 or 60 years old. I think I now have ten or twelve TV's. So where does it end?

I have more than one license already.

Does it stop at five? Ten?

It should stop on a database query, where it says "I own copies" and the management does something brilliant, such as "let us offer the guy (and his friend) a free upgrade if he recommends us to a new customer, and let the new customer buy a second, third, or tenth license when they realize what using a good database tool can actually achieve, instead of demonstrating how they do not make use of their own tools and technologies (to the years old sickness of the customers complaints about this exact issue).

You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

You can slap a new name on (and they won't know who is calling them).

    Hello????

  4. I'm getting the same emails, and getting sick of them (yes I know I can unsubscribe). I personally don't see a $5000 value in their RAD server or what ever it's called. I'm thinking that the 48% savings is if you were planning on bundling this in with the purchase of the architect version of Delphi, and you get a free copy. Sorry, but I have zero faith in that product (RAD server, not Delphi). It's very hard to buy into that when there are a few dead past projects (HTML Builder, Bold, Kylix, Mobile app builder or what ever it was called, etc.).

  5. Where I work at the moment these e-mails are correctly identified as spam and quarantined/deleted automatically after some time :-P
