Embarcadero, I'm waiting for an Updated Rad Studio Tokyo version... My Android project are stuck and I still use Rad Studio Berlin....

  1. Just curious: which issues are holding you back? Note: I know there's a bunch of them; just mention the worst :-)

  2. Stéphane Wierzbicki Is there a test case available?

  3. David Nottage I can make a test case for 17189 but you will need to have TFrameStand installed, there is an project already attached for 17687

  4. Thanks.. we have Android 4 devices at work (I think 4.1), so these may be pertinent. Actually, I think one may even be a MC32N0 (or close to it)

  5. David Nottage thank you. It will be nice to test this on a mc32n0 device :)

  6. David Nottage I've updated #17189. I've attached a reproducible test case but you need to install TFrameStand first.

  7. Stéphane Wierzbicki Yes - I would also like to get an update that fixes sporadic issues with effects and animations which I experience. Communication on a timeframe when to expect it would be cool.

  8. Funny things :
    - I'm able to run the project by either removing the TGlyph or setting TGlyph.ImageIndex to 1. The app doesn't crash.
I'm able to run the project after setting TGlyph.ImageIndex to -1 (no picture displayed), saving the project and setting TGlyph.ImageIndex to 0 (login picture displayed) again. The app doesn't crash but no picture is displayed !!!

  9. Roland Kossow I would also like to get an update that fixes these issues (Bitmap not displayed, TAnimation or TEffect crashing the app, big slow downs on grids...). RAD Studio is out for almost 2 month now .

  10. Stéphane Wierzbicki Yep - or at least some guidance on when to expect it. Might be that we are heavy hit - being daring enough to do Andorid Dev with Delphi - but hey - we deserve some respect and update commitments for this. It would be also great (even though I am not sure if it is not a bug in GBoard) to have linefeeds for GBoard users :-> Caret positioning in multine input fields is also still a PITA (aka not working properly in every regard). I think it is a pitty - even though I do not have any customers whom I have sold Delphi Android apps.

  12. And what about the TEdit and TMemo problems with the google keyboard, open since last year:

  13. Marco Cantù, Nick Hodges can you give us some fresh news about all these Android issues ? There are really big expectation here... Thank you

  14. We are putting significant attention (and resources) to fix the key open issues on the Android platforms, starting with the edit+backspace problems and the regressions (in different areas) introduced in Tokyo due to architectural changes -- that we want to preserve as they are the foundation for future support of native platform controls.
Development is in progress but given the non-trivial nature of the work, it would be fairly risky to share a deadline. The current plan is to deliver via hot fixes before Update/Release 1.

  15. Marco Cantù Thank you for sharing this with us. We look forward to these changes. I'm risking this : any ETA for Update 1 ? before , during or after summer time ?

  16. We're also compiling for Motorola MC32N0 ... so i should wait for those fixes. Have voted for both.

  17. Yusuf Zorlu Android platform is really broken. A lot of things related with "bitmap" are broken (picture not displayed, Timagelist doesn't display first and last images, TEffectsxxx will crash on Android....).

I'm currently using Berlin... I'm sorry but this is a real shame to wait such time on such critical issues...
