I'm pretty excited about this CData thing. 80+ cloud APIs available through FireDAC without having to deal with the real API? Count me in. Will be interesting to find out how it works. Seems like CData deals with the APIs on their server and provide a translation interface to the data. I use TMS Cloud Pack to access the Facebook API now but expanded SQL access to the Facebook API through FireDAC sounds pretty powerful. No info yet on what the cost will be though. https://community.embarcadero.com/blogs/entry/new-enterprise-connectors-for-delphi-and-c-builder-join-the-beta

  1. At that price and such conditions, I think I'll pass and do the desired APIs myself. And - if based on open APIs, release the code to public.

  2. The CData connectors are now in GetIt. I tested the Facebook one. Seems interesting. Also downloaded the eBay and YouTube ones.

  3. I could see paying for one as it would be less than $100 a month. And if the API is kept updated (which it would have to be) but that really only applies to Facebook which changes their API all the time. I tried the OData connector yesterday. I thought it was going to be a pack of ~80 for the one price though :P
