Well, today I came across an interesting recruitment page by one of the largest game-making companies in China (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanda). Guess what? The page is titled 'The base camp of Delphi (in China)', in order to draw attention from local Delphi developers, and in the very same page it says 'Delphi is the best language, don't agree? Come and fight with us' :D :D :D. They claim to have over 2,000 game developers and Ops, add they have developed over 70 video games in total, with over 1.8 billion registered users. And *most importantly, most of their games are developed in Delphi*. Good news to the Delphi community, isn't it ;)

  1. 18 billion registered users eh? Last I heard, there are only about 7 billion people on Planet Earth. No wonder nobody on Earth has heard of them ... they're from another galaxy far, far away! :)

  2. Interesting, my translation shows only 1800 million registered users. Wikipedia mentions 460 million in 2005. If they count users per game and users registered for several games are counted multiple times it sounds somewhat reasonable.

  3. David Schwartz Maybe they open access to parallel universe ;) -- Sorry for my typo.

  4. Uwe Raabe Yes, that's my perception too, when I read the number 1.8 billion. You know, that's a trick for writing AD copies.

  5. So since you guys are interested, here is one more notes from the page:
-- They are planning new projects and Delphi will still be the tool for server-side development.

  8. Zhan Wang So I've just checked the page again, and noticed it's placed under the "20170731zp" directory, plus that their job AD is currently on the front page of one of the largest Delphi online communities in China, so I believe it's a newly recruiting page.
