I wonder if it's ok to point out here that the development of Smart Mobile Studio has picked up speed after a long hiatus and that a new alpha-release is available? SMS is not strictly Delphi, but it's a Delphi-like RAD, which compiles Object Pascal code into html5-applications.

  1. Thank you Bob Devine for the nice feedback. Well, the reason this was released as an Alpha is, that we're still a bit in the middle of development. But it for sure is the best version ever of Smart Mobile Studio by miles and anyone developing in Smart should definitely do it with this version.

In my previous work I used Smart to make a mobile app for iOS and Android, which is used by some 500k users. But while doing it I had to work around a lot of bugs and create many own components. But I still loved the idea and concept so much, that I wanted to get involved and to make sure that developers don't have to fight with bugs.

So during the last few months we've been working hard to make Smart's RTL as bug-free as possible and added some nice new components. Now Lennart Aasenden is working hard on styling, to get it up to par and to let programmers combine their own styles with common styles in a sensible way.

Thank you Lars Fosdal for your feedback too. Off topic is all ok.

  2. Just testing it out. One thing I dropped a groupbox, adding a button and text to that, ran it..but those do not show in the group box (they do outside of the groupbox) ?

  3. Brian Hamilton Yeah, there's still some work to do in the IDE. It seems to work if you click on the form background once after adding the groupbox. We need to kill these bugs too.
