Hi guys, I'm trying to create an option in my media player program where I can select which sound card the TMediaplayer uses for output. Anybody know how I can do this? Been struggling for days.
Attila Kovacs Terrorising is a hot strong. Who here is going to be terrified? Avoiding duplication of effort by not cross posting, or explicitly referring to cross posts, is common courtesy.
I'm sorry, but I think this has turned into a really silly debate. These are unrelated domains, and I don't expect a strong overlap between the audiences in terms of who's reading what and when. Sure, maybe I'm registered on every Delphi-related site in the known universe (not by a long-shot), but I only really pay attention to a couple of them.
If someone arbitrarily demands that people only post to ONE with the silly excuse that, "I regularly watch ALL of them and I assume everybody else who'd answer your question does too, so don't waste 'our' time with multiple posts" it's just awfully self-centered.
When I'm busy with something and get stumped with a technical problem, I want to do what amounts to a "parallel search", so I'm may decide to post to several places in hopes of maximizing the likelihood that somebody will answer sooner rather than later. I really couldn't care less if a couple of people are put off by it, because I'm far more put off by an arbitrary "rule" that says I should respect your time more than my own, and therefore serialize my requests so it might take me days to get a reply instead of hours. And you might still get miffed because, well, maybe you don't think a day or even a week between posts is enough.
It's just silly. I do my best not to post the same request to multiple areas on the same domain. But I reserve the right to post the same request on multiple independent domains; if that bothers anybody, too bad.
David Schwartz Of course you have that right. From the perspective of an asker rather than an answerer, I can see why other people duplicating effort doesn't bother you.
