Can anyone show me how to install Mobile AddOn and FireDAC on Delphi 10.2.2 professional?

Can anyone show me how to install Mobile AddOn and FireDAC on Delphi 10.2.2 professional?

I've installed the product with the Web Installer (2004).

But when I run the installer again to add these components, I only get the option of uninstalling Delphi.

Comments

  1. I think it will work from menu:
    Tools->Manage Platforms

  2. First time I wanted to add Mobile AddOn I run installer again providing new serial nubmer (this one I got for Mobile AddOn), then I had to manually add all SDKs for Android, etc.
Next time when I installed new version of Delphi I have simply used the key from AddOn and it was working...

  3. Marcin Bury Yes! but this time not! 10.2.2.

  4. If you have a new license then probably you have both.
Have you checked in menu Help->License Manager?

    ReplyDelete
  5. I've had issues with older licenses blocking newer licenses, especially after open betas. The solution has been to open the License Manager and delete the obsolete license. Likewise, it could be there you need to add the license for the add-on.

  6. I see that my suggestion has not been taken. Remember when David Millington asked for suggestions on the installer? My main gripe was just this: they should be showing you everything available for install. It's ridicolous that we have to jump through hoops. It is NOT RIGHT.

It's not a new licence. It's a Licence since XE3, named last time as XE8. At Help->Licence Manager I only this licence, because It's a new Installation.

It's a new Windows Machine. I don't have older licences of any type.

My problem is that I can't found how to install the Mobile AddOn and the FireDAC.

If you have problems with the licence system, I remember you, that you should speak it directly with Embarcadero. This is not a good place to do this.

If you continue with this attitude, speaking about the licence system of Embacadero, you shall know that this thread can be deleted from the forum, based on the rules of use.

Don't persist in your attitude, please!

  10. Juan C. Cilleruelo, I don't have a problem with the license system. Well, I kind-of do, but that's not the discussion here. MY PROBLEM is brought on by a simple question: why are you, EMB, making my life more miserable than it has to be? You EMB have all the registration information to make SMART choices instead of dumb ones. That is my point.

Please Raimondi, desist of convert this thread in a discussion about the License system of Embarcadero and how the problems with it affect you. This shall be treated directly with Embarcadero.

You are going to get that this thread was deleted by the moderator without solving my real problem.

My problem is. I've installed Delphi Professional with the Web Installer. And now, when I'm going to install the Mobile AddOn and the FireDAC, I can't because the installer suggests me uninstall all to continue. And I can't find another form of doing this two installations.

If I uninstall Delphi and use the ISO installer to get this two things: Mobile AddOn and FireDAC, then, is when I going to have problems with the licences, because I lost an installation. And recover it is a problem that can take 3 days or more in be resolved.

But at this moment I have not a problem with the licences. Still not. My life can be miserable, but Embarcadero and his licence system have not the fault.

Anyone else has a solution about how to install this two things: Mobile AddOn and FireDAC, without lost the installation in the counter of installations of Embarcadero?

  12. As I said: you wouldn't even have this problem if that had been taken up. You are the demonstration that it would have been worth their while. I have had the same issue and, for me, on mobile, what worked was to go into "Tools" and then click "Manage platforms". But that was Berlin, I don't know if it will work for you in Tokyo. I refuse to buy the FireDAC package for well known reasons (and that, yes, is another discussion).

  13. This doesn't work with Tokyo. 10.2.2 has a really new interface for this things.

  14. Last time I downloaded the ISO of Delphi 10.2.2 (build 1978) it took 48 hours.

I'm downloading it again (build 2004) because I see this is going to be the solution.

No one else knows a different form of install this two things?: Mobile AddOn and FireDAC?

Since last 16 of December installing Delphi 10.2.2.

    6 days and continuing!

    With legal licences of course.

  15. Juan C. Cilleruelo Since I've never used add-ons or extensions (I have the enterprise version), I don't really know how they work - so please be patient with my stupid questions.

Do each of the add-ons/extensions have a separate serial number or license key?

Have you added all the key(s)/Serial(s) to the License Manager?

Is the add-on or extension available via GetIt?

I assume you also have requested installation support from Embt.

In previous versions, I've installed Delphi from ISO download. The first time the installer ask me only for the licence of Delphi Pro.

When the installations are complete I run again the installer and there is an option to add more licence numbers. I add the license numbers of Mobile AddOn and FireDAC and the program install now this two modules.

The problem is that because I spent a lot of time in this installation (6 days by now) I decided to download the build 2004 of the Web Installer. (you know well why).

When I try to Install as the previous one time, I get that the only option is to uninstall all.

This is the problem. In Delphi 10.2.2 are there another form of install this or a problem of the Web Installer?

Adding the licences to the License Manager, can make that the product install it? No, only exists the licences. What I need is install and registering it.

I thought about GetIt and I say Wow! sure that this is the new form! but no!.

Of course. I'm going to make a request to Embarcadero, but first I need to a try all the options.

If the people of Embarcadero has time, to respond me, why they don't have time to document the method of install on his web?

I think they only have time to create new problems, (programming) not to solve old ones (debugging). In product and in the documentation.

  17. Juan C. Cilleruelo - I am a developer. I think in "if, then, else" - so to be able to progress, I need exact answers, not fuzzy logic :P

Did you manually add the licenses to the License Manager?
    Yes or no?

    Did you then check GetIt?
    Yes or no?

If yes to both, I guess the ISO is the only option that currently works, unless EMBT has other info. I am a bit surprised that you prefer to "try all the options", instead of immediately raising an install support case.

I don't want to speak about my problems with the licences. But every time I have a problem with them I need between 2 and 5 days to resolve it.

Because of this, I don't want to make experiments.

No. I don't add the licences to the License Manager. I think that if this were the solution, someone of the group would know it. No one said it. And I don't want to experiment with licenses. No more!

I checked GetIt. Nothing is here, about this problem. There is not an installer of the Mobile AddOn nor an installer of the FireDAC.

    --------------

At this moment has been finished the download of the ISO 2004. I'm going to try the old method.

I'm going to inform all of you if this is the solution.

    Thanks.

  19. "No. I don't add the licences to the License Manager. I think that if this were the solution, someone of the group would know it. No one said it."

I said it. My assumption is that if it is not in the licenses, it won't show up in GetIt either. But, yes, it is only an assumption, not a certainty.

Ok. But I search experiences, not assumptions.

    I'm sorry, but thanks.

What I really need is a link to an official web that explains crystal clear how to do it. But... I've searched with care and I do not find it. Maybe don't exist.

    Thanks again.

  21. Do you know what is the later problem?

When they launch next version I don't go to use it, in spite of I'm subscribed. Because I'm going to remember these problems I going to hate to suffer them again.

After. With the next version, I'm going to install, with illusion the new Delphi, but... as there is no documentation about the method, and it changes time to time, and I'm going not to remember the steps I took one or two year before...

    frustration again.

  22. Hi. GetIt should show all platforms that are available based on your license (so Andrea, it does.) What I would guess is happening here is that the license it's using is incorrect or outdated. Contact support, but you a pointer would be to open the License Manager and check what's present. If you delete anything there, make sure you have them saved first to restore (you can export from the LM.)

  23. David Millington, Was my assumption was accurate? He needs to add both the Delphi Pro license key and the additional Add-on licenses keys to License Manager for the Add-on to appear in GetIt? Or - will the Add-on key implicitly include Delphi itself?

    ReplyDelete
  24. David Millington - P.S. Thanks for taking time to comment.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Lars Fosdal I think so, yes - but this actually isn't something I've looked at too closely. For installation problems I'd recommend contacting support. Also note an installation support ticket doesn't count towards the number you get along with your license, so another reason to just drop them an email.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh, that's nice to know. Now, given that you have the EDN credentials... how about that the installer updates everything automatically? Now that would be nice :)

I understand then, that if in my current installation, Delphi Berlin 10.1.2, where I have the Mobile AddOn and the FireDAC installed and running, I check for this products into GetIt, this shall be the problem? True?

No. I don't have these products in GetIt.

(I can si TeeGrid, that I have installed and with the option of uninstalling it).

I want to explain, that: I don't have problems with licenses. My problem is that after installing Delphi Pro in a totally and absolutely new machine, I can't accomplish the installation of the Mobile AddOn and the FireDAC, because of the Web Installer, only give me the option of uninstalling all.

In previous versions, the Installer gives me the option of add new keys and then install this tools.

    Now, only uninstall all.
